Aetiological study of dermatophytosis in dogs and cats

A study was made of the aetiology of 141 cases of dermatitis in dogs and cats. Routine dermatological procedures revealed a mycotic aetiology in 27 animals. Dermatophyte species were identified by direct microscopy and culture on Sabouraud medium.
