An image processing technique for oil palm bunch detection

The use of a camera for analysing the maturity of the oil palm bunch is considered as one of the first steps in developing an automatic oil palm harvester. Due to the change of colour of the oil palm bunch from red to dark purple during the ripening state, the combination of red and blue colour obtained from a colour camera can produce the binary image which can be used for image analysis and fruit location.
