Application linear programming model for watershed management planning

A computerized watershed management model is developed that maximizes Net Present Value (NPV) subject to the constraints of permissible erosion, food demand, total budget, and available land resources. The model uses data from the Kontu Hulu River sub-watershed of the Brantas watershed in East Java, which functions as a water catchment area for the Seloredjo dam. The total area of this sub-watershed is about 23 450 ha, of which 15 450 ha is forest.
