Barriers to adoption of on-farm computers in England

Farm Management 8(1): 37-45
Barriers to adoption of on-farm computers in England
The paper reports on the results of a postal survey sent to a representative sample of 600 farmers in England, which was designed to investigate barriers to adoption of on-farm computers. A usable response rate of 34% was obtained. Of the respondents, 16.8% had a computer as a management aid in the farm office. Respondents who were not currently using an on-farm computer were asked why they had not felt the need to acquire one. The dominant reason was the small size of the farm.
