Biochemical blood indices in patients with tuberculosis associated with opisthorchiasis

Biochemical blood indices in patients with tuberculosis associated with opisthorchiasis

Meditsinskaya Parazitologiya i Parazitarnye Bolezni ( 5): 27-29

Total serum proteins, protein fractions and various liver function tests were carried out in 111 patients in Tomsk, USSR, with tuberculosis associated with chronic opisthorchiasis and in 36 control patients with tuberculosis alone. The results showed that opisthorchiasis associated with tuberculosis affected the protein liver function, causing insignificant proteinaemia, dysproteinaemia and positive thymol and mercury chloride sublimate tests in 22.5 and 9.0% of the patients respectively.
