Biochemical nature of flower-colour mutants of garden rose



Izvestiya Akademii Nauk SSSR Seriya Biologicheskaya ( 4): 524-531



The results are presented of a study of variation in the colour and flavonoid pigment composition of the flowers in 4 source varieties and 38 gamma ray induced and spontaneous mutants derived from them. Possible pathways of flavonoid pigment synthesis in roses are examined, together with data from the literature on variation in colour and the content and composition of pigments in the flowers.
