Daily administration of gossypol at 10 mg/kg to 6 Karakul sheep (3 fitted with biliary-duodenal cannulas) resulted in characteristic changes in blood proteins and serum enzymes. Bile secretion was reduced, and intrahepatic cholestasis developed.
