Biochemistry and genetics of Arabidopsis thaliana mutants characterized by lysine or threonine overproduction

The induced mutants FALT7, 11 and 14 were resistant to concentrations of lysine and threonine which are toxic for the wild type, but showed no lysine or threonine overproduction. Their resistance was due to an alteration in the uptake system of basic amino acids. The mutant 5FALT40/6/1 was also resistant to toxic concentrations of lysine and threonine.
