A field survey of 29 apple tree pesticide application treatments involving air blast sprayers was conducted. Results showed that only 16% of the treatments were within 5% of the intended rate of application. Coverage studies conducted using fluorescent dyes indicated that the inside portion of most trees was the most difficult to treat.
