Calibration of soil test methods for available nitrogen in black soils (Inceptisols) for sorghum
Different soil test methods for available N were evaluated in pot experiments for their suitability for determining the critical level for sorghum in Vertic Ustropepts in Maharashtra, India. Results indicate that alkaline KMnO4-N was the best method for estimating available N in these alkaline, calcareous soils.
