Calmodulin is a subunit of lysine sensitive isoenzyme of aspartate kinase from plants

Proceedings of the International Congress of Plant Physiology, New Delhi, India 15-20 February, 1988 Volume 1: 700-704
Calmodulin is a subunit of lysine sensitive isoenzyme of aspartate kinase from plants
The lysine sensitive isoenzyme of aspartate kinase was purified 450-fold from spinach leaves. The enzyme with a specific activity of 920 units/mg protein and MW of 300 kDa was resolved into its subunits using 4 M urea. The smaller subunit (17 kDa) showed molecular properties identical to those of calmodulin. The subunit activated other calmodulin-responding enzymes.
