Cancer near the Three Mile Island nuclear plant: radiation emissions

, : Cancer near the Three Mile Island nuclear plant: radiation emissions. American Journal of Epidemiology 132(3): 397-412; Discussion 413-7

Cancers among some 160 000 residents living within a 10-mile radius of the Three Mile Island nuclear plant in Pennsylvania, USA, were studied relative to releases of radiation during the 1979 accident as well as to routine plant emissions. Estimates of the emissions delivered to small geographical tracts were derived from dispersion models which accounted for wind and terrain effects.
