, : Capacity for food transport by workers of Stelopolybia pallipes (Olivier, 1791), (Hymenoptera, Vespidae). Anais da Sociedade Entomologica do Brasil 18(2): 321-328

Workers of Stelopolybia pallipes were trained to collect a 50% saccharose solution from an electronic scale. Body weight, pouch load weight, and the time spent sucking syrup and in the colony were recorded. On average, the pouch load weight was 50% of body weight. Prey carried by vespids were removed as they entered the colony and weighed.
