Carbohydrate supplement from cottonseed husks for lactating cows

, : Carbohydrate supplement from cottonseed husks for lactating cows. Zootekhniya ( 2): 36-37

Feed hydrolysed sugar from cottonseed husks (FHS) contained 22 to 40% DM and 60 to 78% water; its pH was 3.5 to 4.5. Up to 85% of the DM was monosaccharides. Gas chromatography showed that with 22.94% DM and 19.94% sugars in FHS, xylose, glucose, arabinose, galactose and mannose made up 79.2, 13.1, 4.0, 3.3 and 0.4% of sugars, respectively.
