, : Carbohydrates in sunflower seeds and rapeseed. Sciences des Aliments 9(2): 405-412

Hulls of sunflower varieties Cargisol and Rodeo contained 25-30% ethanol soluble carbohydrates (ESC) and polysaccharides, mainly xylose (14 to 16%), glucose (19 to 20%) and galacturonic acid (9 to 10%), 4.8% of total carbohydrates extracted with a chloroform and methanol mixture. Dehulled seeds contained 1.2% ESC with sucrose 0.7, raffinose 0.4 and stachyose 0.1%, and 4.8% polysaccharides, mainly galacturonic acid (1%), glucose (1.1%) and arabinose (1.3%).
