A TSWV isolate was collected from diseased C. annuum Gedeon showing heavy mosaic, leaf distortion and stem necrosis, and designated C-TSWV. Its host range was similar to CNPH1 isolate. High absorbance values were obtained with DAS ELISA when C-TSWV was studied with polyclonal antiserum to CNPH1-TSWV nucleocapsid protein. The RNA segments (L, M and S) were similar in size to those of CNPH1-TSWV.
