Contribution to the study of boron availability in soils in Sao Paulo State, II. Note on relations between leaf boron content and growth in sunflowers (Helianthus annuus Mill)

Contribution to the study of boron availability in soils in Sao Paulo State, II. Note on relations between leaf boron content and growth in sunflowers (Helianthus annuus Mill)

Revista de Agricultura Piracicaba 65(3): 249-255

Sunflowers were grown in pots containing soil belonging to each of 5 soil series from the area around Piracicaba. B content of the soils, extracted by HCl, was 0.28-0.55 p.p.m. Each pot was given 0-1.0 p.p.m. B, the N:B ratio in new leaves decreased as B content increased with increasing applied B rate. Plant height was greater with than without B.
