Control of brush and cattails in drainage ditches and canals using the mechanical invert system

Control of brush and cattails in drainage ditches and canals using the mechanical invert system

Proceedings of the 45th North Central weed control conference: 74-76

The Mechanical Invert System was introduced in 1970 and used in herbicide applications as part of rights of way vegetation management schemes. In studies carried out in 1988-90, glyphosate applied with this equipment in Upper Red Lake reservoir Beltrami, Minnesota, USA gave good control (100%) of aquatic cattail (Typha sp.) and willow (Salix sp.) and also of ditchbank brush.
