Of 13 fungicides tested against P. cubensis in 1986 on artificially inoculated melons, chlorothalonil, first applied before symptom appearance continued at 7-d intervals, gave good control. In 1987, chlorothalonil, first applied after symptom appearance, was also effective, followed by fosetyl-Al (applied singly or with chlorothalonil) and propamocarb (mixed with chlorothalonil). Copper oxychloride, folpet and thiram were less effective.
