Corn sheller and moisture meter

Hand operated and mechanized maize shellers are described in detail with emphasis on effect of operating conditions on cylinder loss (i.e. maize left unshelled on the cob) and damage to the kernels. Graphs illustrate cylinder loss in relation to m.c. A comparison of different-types of sheller is discussed. Direct and indirect methods of measuring m.c. of maize are described.
