Difference in response of five aphid species to alarm pheromone from active cornicle droplets

Difference in response of five aphid species to alarm pheromone from active cornicle droplets

Annual Report of the Society of Plant Protection of North Japan ( 42): 112-113

The responses of Aulacorthum solani, Myzus persicae, Macrosiphum euphorbiae, Aphis rumicis and A. craccivora to the other species' alarm pheromones were observed in the laboratory and recorded in terms of cluster dispersal. Aulacorthum solani reacted strongly to the secretions of Aphis craccivora. Myzus persicae reacted to all species' secretions, especially its own.
