Differences in aggressiveness among isolates of Tilletia foetida and Tilletia caries

Differences in aggressiveness among isolates of Tilletia foetida and Tilletia caries

Indian Phytopathology 43(4): 569-571

In 1978, 1979 and 1981, the seeds of susceptible wheat cultivars VL-421, Selection 50077, Girija and Pompe were individually inoculated with teliospores of 4 virulences (L-1, L-3, L-A and L-B) of T. foetida and 2 virulences (T-1 and T-3) of T. caries in Himachal Pradesh, India. Virulence T-1 was the most aggressive (37.75% infection) and L-A was the least aggressive (16.55%).
