The results are presented of studies on the extraction and culture of protoplasts from 6 varieties and diploid forms, and on plantlet regeneration. Protoplasts were extracted from leaves by treatment with a mixture of Cellulysin, Macerase, Macerazyme R10 and Driselase and cultured on NSS and SW media. Microcolonies were sealed into agar medium ST1 and green cell lines were transferred to medium for organogenesis.
