Different protein patterns in normal and mastitic milks as revealed by sodium dodecyl sulfate-polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis

Different protein patterns in normal and mastitic milks as revealed by sodium dodecyl sulfate-polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis

Nihon Juigaku Zasshi. Japanese Journal of Veterinary Science 51(6): 1275-1278

Normal and mastitic milk from Holstein cows was analysed using SDS-PAGE. This technique revealed that at least 12 proteins were distinctly different in control and mastitic milk. Serial quarter milks obtained during the course of 3 other cases of mastitis were also analysed. The study indicated that this milk corresponded to the orginal mastitic milk sample.
