Differential evolution of red-yellow latosol and dark-red latosol as a function of gneissic lithology in Lavras region, Minas Gerais State

Differential evolution of red-yellow latosol and dark-red latosol as a function of gneissic lithology in Lavras region, Minas Gerais State

Revista Brasileira de Ciencia do Solo 16(2): 235-240

Two pedological units which are dominant in the title area were studied. The first is represented by areas of Red-Yellow Latosol and the second by areas of Dark-Red Latosol (both Oxisols), primarily developed from the product of alteration of leucocratic and mesocratic granitic gneiss, resp. These soils have dry tropudic moisture regimes and isothermic temperature regimes.
