The kinetic analysis of A. mellifera head acetylcholinesterase (AChE) inhibition by pirimicarb showed that native and detergent-solubilized brain membrane enzyme exhibited slightly different carbamylation kinetics. The AChE form sensitive to phosphatidylinositol-specific phospholipase C (PI-PLC) was carbamylated more rapidly than the PI-PLC-resistant counterpart, which had a behaviour close to that of the soluble tryptic enzyme.
