Differentiation of the reproductive buds in kumquats in Abkhazia

The results are presented of a comparison of flower bud development and flowering in Fortunella japonica, F. margarita and F. crassifolia in this area of the Georgian SSR during 1981-83. Interspecific differences were found, with F. crassifolia being the earliest and F. japonica the latest to begin differentiation of the flower buds. Ovule formation began first in F. crassifolia.
