Studi di Economia e Diritto 40(1): 139-154

An overview is given of EC fruit production and trade and prospects for trade with Eastern Europe. Tables detail EC output of fresh (i.e., non-citrus) fruit and citrus fruit in the years 1987-89, indicating shares by country (Italy produces one-third of the fresh fruit category and one-third of citrus fruit; Spain produces half of all citrus fruit). The EC area given over to different types of fruit and production of the range of fresh and citrus fruit are noted.
