Earliness and maturation rates in new varieties and lines of cotton

Earliness and maturation rates in new varieties and lines of cotton

Uzbekskii Biologicheskii Zhurnal ( 3): 74-75

In a study of 7 early varieties and lines with good fibre quality and other favourable traits, compared in 1986-87 with the standard, Tashkent 1, L151 and Yulduz gave the best results, combining a short growth period with high rates of maturation. L151 was the earliest of the forms studied and had the highest maturation rate. Three lines similar to L151 in growth period had lower maturation rates.
