Effect of diazinon on control of two mushroom flies of button mushroom (Agaricus brunnescens)

Field trials were carried out in Uttar Pradesh, India, between 1981 and 1983 to investigate the effectiveness of diazinon at 25, 50 and 100 p.p.m. against the phorid Megaselia halterata and the sciarid Bradysia tritici, which are both pests of Agaricus brunnescens The best results were achieved with diazinon at 25 p.p.m. because it did not adversely affect mycelial growth, controlled both pests and resulted in maximum yield.
