Effect of different levels of N and K in uptake of Ca, Mg and S by the potato cv. Kufri Badshah in sandy loam soil of Bangalore

In a trial in the 1984-85 rabi season with potatoes Kufri Badshah grown on a sandy loam soil, application of 60, 120 or 180 kg N and/or 50, 100 or 150 kg K/ha gave total uptake of 31.43-44.69 kg Ca, 45.31-67.97 kg Mg and 9.86-13.68 kg S/ha depending on combinations of N and K rates, compared with 29.41, 37.69 and 8.48 kg, resp., without fertilizers. Data on the effects of the treatments on nutrient accumulation in haulms, roots and tubers are also given.
