Effect of ensiling on the nutritive value of groundnut-hulls and wheat straw

Effect of ensiling on the nutritive value of groundnut-hulls and wheat straw

Sudan Journal of Animal Production 2(1): 1-8

24 h before packing into plastic bags, groundnut hulls (GNH) and wheat straw (WS) were soaked with distilled water to a DM content of 45% and ensiled for 3 weeks without or with 5 or 10% (on a DM basis of ensiled substrate) molasses, bagasse or sugarcane tops. Quantity of GNH and WS in each bag was 450 and 300 g, respectively.
