Effect of feeding lucerne pellets on trichostrongyle infection in grazing heifers

Effect of feeding lucerne pellets on trichostrongyle infection in grazing heifers

Veterinary Record 131(6): 126-127

In a study during 1991, lucerne pellets were offered ad libitum to grazing heifers in an automated self-feeder from July 31 when their average body-weight had reached 270 kg. The supplementary feeding was timed to coincide with the uptake of a new generation of infective trichostrongyle larvae and the decline in grass growth on grazed pasture.
