Effect of fertility levels on winter maize (Zea mays) under different moisture regimes based on irrigation water: cumulative pan evaporation

In field experiments in 1985-87 at Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh maize Ganga Safed grown during the rabi (winter) season irrigated at irrigation water:cumulative pan evaporation ratios (IW:CPE) of 0.6, 0.8, 1.0 or 1.2 produced grain yields of 2.14, 2.40, 3.12 and 3.00 t/ha, respectively. Grain yield increased with NPK application from 1.45 t (without NPK) to 3.89 t with 180:90:60 kg N:P2O5:K2O.
