Effect of fertilization, agrotechnical measures and preceding crop on quality of the grain and malt of spring barley cv. Bonus

Effect of fertilization, agrotechnical measures and preceding crop on quality of the grain and malt of spring barley cv. Bonus

Acta Universitatis Agriculturae, Facultas Agronomica 37(3-4): 53-62

Spring barley Bonus was grown at Zabcice in 1986-88 and given 30, 60 or 90 kg N + 27 kg K/ha. Preceding crops were spring barley or sugarbeet. Av. yields with conventional and minimum tillage were 5.11 and 4.50 t/ha, resp. after barley and 5.53 and 5.63 t after sugarbeet. Grain yields increased with increasing N rate after barley in all 3 years but only in 1988 after sugarbeet. 1000-grain wt, proportion of 1st class grain, grain CP content and Kolbach's number increased with increasing N rate.
