Effect of fertilizer application and irrigation on the mineral element content and amino acid composition of peas. 1. Nitrogen content and amino acid composition

Effect of fertilizer application and irrigation on the mineral element content and amino acid composition of peas. 1. Nitrogen content and amino acid composition

Novenytermeles 40(6): 509-518

In field trials in 1976-83 on calcareous chernozem soil, peas IP-3 were given 0-120 kg N, 0-180 kg P2O5 and 0-212 kg K2O/ha and irrigated once (if necessary) with 70-80 mm water, usually on an appropriate date in May. The reduced seed N and CP contents from irrigated plants was linked with the previously observed high N and CP contents of seeds from plants receiving less than usual precipitation in May and June. Seed N content was increased by the highest NPK rates in dry years only.
