Effect of fertilizer application on ground cover in Scots pine stands on Vaccinium vitis-idaea and V. myrtillus sites

Effect of fertilizer application on ground cover in Scots pine stands on Vaccinium vitis-idaea and V. myrtillus sites

Metsanduslikud Uurimused, Estonian SSR 22: 48-63

Ground vegetation was measured 8 yr after application of N, NP and NPK fertilizers at various rates to Estonian Scots pine stands aged 46-122 yr of the (a) Rhodococcum vitis-idaea and (b) V. myrtillus types. Fertilizer increased shrub cover by 25% in (a) and 13-14% in (b), and herbaceous ground cover was increased on both types, especially at high N doses (200-500 kg/ha).
