Effect of fertilizer levels on the green feed yield of sweet sorghum (Sorghum bicolor Moench var. saccharatum Korn)

Sweet sorghum S-1 was grown at Chinju, Korea in 1989 in upland and paddy soils and given 300, 450 or 600 kg N/ha and 150 or 300 kg P and K/ha. Phosphate contents of both soils were greatly decreased after sweet sorghum cropping. The number of stems/msuperscript 2 was greater at the 2nd cut than the 1st cut. Both FW and DW were greatest with 450 kg N/ha. The contents of total N, P, K and Mg in leaves and stems increased with increasing N rate.
