Effect of fiber source on diet digestibility and growth in fattening rabbits

Effect of fiber source on diet digestibility and growth in fattening rabbits

Journal of Applied Rabbit Research 14(3): 159-165

Diets were formulated to provide 10% crude fibre (CF) on a DM basis with 60% of fibre supplied by lucerne hay, citrus pulp, beet pulp, grape marc or rice hulls and given to 175 New Zealand White X Californian rabbits. Fibre source affected digestibility: the highest digestibility was with citrus pulp, beet pulp and rice hulls, and the lowest with grape marc.
