Effect of fostering on the survival of rabbits and reproductive performance

Effect of fostering on the survival of rabbits and reproductive performance

Cuniculture Paris 16(6): 291-295

In an experiment involving 150 litters born over a period of several wk, fostering was carried out each wk, 2-3 days after birth, so as to produce litters of equal size (57 litters), or of a size equal to the number of functional teats on the dam (39 litters); no fostering was carried out for the remaining 54 litters.
