Effect of genotype and ambient conditions on heterogeneity of the number and length of leaf stomata of winter wheat

Effect of genotype and ambient conditions on heterogeneity of the number and length of leaf stomata of winter wheat

Rostlinna Vyroba 37(9-10): 809-815

Twelve winter wheat cultivars were grown for 2 years in the field and variability in the number and length of stomata was determined on the adaxial and abaxial sides of the last 2 leaves below the spike on the main stem and tillers. Differences between cultivars and years in stomatal characteristics were noted. Higher numbers of stomata/mmsuperscript 2 of leaf area were found on the tiller, the flag leaf and the adaxial side.
