Effect of gibberellic acid and naphthaleneacetic acid on growth, yield and quality of onion

In a field experiment, the effects of GA3 and NAA, each at 3 concentrations (50, 100 and 150 p.p.m), on growth, yield and quality of onion were studied for 2 seasons. Application of GA3 or NAA increased vegetative growth as measured by plant height, leaf length, number of leaves/plant, plant FW and % DM, compared with control plants. Total yield, average bulb weight and total soluble solids contents were also increased.
