Effect of growth regulators on tuber production of dahlia (Dahlia variabilis, Desf.) cv. Black Out

GA3 at 50, 100 or 200 p.p.m., MH at 500, 750 or 1000 p.p.m. or Alar at 1000, 2500 or 5000 p.p.m. were applied as foliar sprays to rooted D. variabilis cuttings 25 days after transplanting. Tubers were lifted 14 days after flowering had finished. The highest shoot:root ratio (2.12) and lowest number of tubers/plant (6.25) and tuber yield (110 g) were obtained with 200 p.p.m. GA3.
