In laboratory and greenhouse experiments at the Institute of Plant Nutrition, Giessen, Germany, rice seedlings were treated with 10-6 M CCC 2 x 10-6, 2 x 10-5 or 1 x 10-4 M DCiB (Na-2,3-dichloroisobutyrate), 10-6 M RSW or 10-5 M Terpal C (chlormequat + ethephon), or mixtures of CCC and DCiB. The growth regulators were added to the nutrient solution. CCC and Terpal C alone had no effect on plant height or DM production. DCiB at 2 x 10-5 M and RSW significantly reduced plant height and shoot DW.
