Micropropagated banana plants growing in a sterilized growing medium (1:1 mixture of soil and sand, containing 6 p.p.m. of NaHCO3-extractable P) were inoculated with Glomus mosseae or G. monosporum or supplied with 33 p.p.m. KH2PO4 fortnightly. Both VAM inocula enhanced growth, P and N uptake and biomass production of host plants.
