Effect of larval treatment of the silkworm with Altosid, ZR-619, and Dimilin on the weight of larvae, silk glands, cocoon formation and silk fibre productivity

Effect of larval treatment of the silkworm with Altosid, ZR-619, and Dimilin on the weight of larvae, silk glands, cocoon formation and silk fibre productivity

Agricultural Research Review 68(1): 217-227

Treatment of 4th- or 5th-instar larvae of Bombyx mori with the juvenoids Altosid ZR 619 or Dimilin inhibited adult emergence in a concn-dependent way by causing the death of the larvae, by preventing normal pupa formation or by causing deformities in the resulting adult. Treatment of 4th-instar larvae resulted in a decrease in silk gland and larval weight in the 5th instar.
