Abstract
Urea, gypsum coated urea, rock phosphate coated urea, ammonium phosphate and ammonium sulphate were applied at 60 kg N/ha in two equal split doses (as a basal application and after the second harvest). Lime was applied at 1000 kg/ha, 10 days before basal application of N. Maximum oil yield and oil recovery were recorded with application of urea. Yield and quality of oil were not affected by lime application, indicating that palmarosa can be grown successfully on soils with a pH of 5.5 to 6.5.
