Abstract
120 crossbred Holstein X zebu cows were appraised for body condition 45 days post partum. The incidence of anoestrus decreased with increasing body condition score. Females with 50%- Holstein breeding had a lower rate of follicular development and fewer corpora lutea 45 days after calving than those with 75- or 87.5%- Holstein blood. Body condition score had no significant effect on uterine involution.
