Effect of postpartum body condition on the incidence of anoestrus in dairy cows

Effect of postpartum body condition on the incidence of anoestrus in dairy cows

Anais, IX Congresso Brasileiro de Reproducao Animal, Belo Horizonte, Brazil, 22 a 26 de Julho 1991 Vol 2: 386

120 crossbred Holstein X zebu cows were appraised for body condition 45 days post partum. The incidence of anoestrus decreased with increasing body condition score. Females with 50%- Holstein breeding had a lower rate of follicular development and fewer corpora lutea 45 days after calving than those with 75- or 87.5%- Holstein blood.
