Effect of root rot disease (Macrophomina phaseolina (Tassi) Goid.) of castor (Ricinus communis L.) by statistical modelling of cultural practices and carbendazim applications

R. communis crops sown at a distance of 90 cm x 30 cm (row to row x seed to seed) with 50 kg N/ha had the lowest incidence of disease. The best disease control was given by carbendazim as seed treatment + spray + soil drench. Statistical analysis indicated a significant negative correlation between disease intensity and yield. Predictions of yield were significant in terms of percentage disease intensity as affected by carbendazim.
