Effect of sowing date and sowing rate on the development and seed yields of winter rape cultivars

In field trials in 1984/85-1986/87, winter rape Beryl, Jet Neuf and Jantar were sown on 15 or 25 Aug. or 4 Sep. in (a) Wrocaw and (b) Poznan districts and Tomek, Herkules and Jantar were sown on 8, 18 or 28 Aug. in (c) Olsztyn district. Highest seed, oil and protein yields were given by Jet Neuf and Herkules in their respective trials. Seed yields decreased with delay in sowing at (a) and (b) and were highest at the 2nd sowing date at (c).
